Fall 2021 | St. James High School was awarded the Horry County Caring Cup for the annual United Way campaign. The Horry County Caring Cup is presented each year to the school, demonstrating the highest percentage of an increase in campaign participation during the previous year. |
December 2020 | The Sun News in its 2020 Best of the Best publication for the first time they have asked the Horry county residents to vote for the best public high school in Horry County. After the votes were counted drum roll please, the winner, and I know you know who it is, by the voters of Horry county, you guessed it your Shark school St. James High school. Congratulations to all the St. James Sharks, faculty and staff, and especially the Sharks of Murrells Inlet. We are proud of our school and our community. The best public high school in Horry county, congratulations Sharks. |
September 2020 | Great News Shark Fine Arts The Fine Arts Program at SJHS was awarded as a Distinguished Arts Program by the State of SC and won an $18,000 grant. Below from South Carolina Department of Education On behalf of the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE), I am pleased to inform you that St. James High School has been awarded a Distiguished Arts Program grant for the project St. James High School Distinguished Arts Program. This is a new grant award based on successful scoring of the application.
